There’s an anonymously written poem that I just have to ask you to read today… Here goes.
It is entitled “Don’t You Quit.”
“When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow –
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit.”
The devil is so good at convincing us it is time to pull the curtain. That the job isn’t “jobbing.” That the bills are piling too high and that before we know it we will be in the most dire straits of our life.
We both know he’s a liar but when some of it “looks” real…
It can be hard to remind yourself that your feelings are valid but that they are not facts.
Remember this much, God is for you and not against you. We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us first and that the devil has been lying and making things looks worse since the beginning of time. When you are struggling in an area, it is usually because the devil is attacking it. All because it is an area the Lord wants to bless you in.
Everything happens in the Spirit first so be patient and trusting. Rest if you must but don’t quit…
It’s when things seem worse that you mustn’t quit.
